Carob Powder

CAROB POWDER

Carob is a non-allergenic alternative to cacao with characteristic unique flavor, therefore it can be used in any cacao/chocolate recipes as a replacement in 1:1 ratio. Results in fantastic tasting desserts, ice creams, smoothies or other beverages. Carob contains good amount of natural sugars, therefore it is not necessary to use as much of sweeteners.

Raw Carob Brownies

Ingredients: 2 ¼ Cups Raw Pecans 1 ½ Cups Dates Chopped ½ Cup Organic Sultanas ½ Cup Raw Carob Powder 2 Tbsp Sesame Seeds 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon 1 tsp Natural Vanilla Bean Extract ¼ tsp Ground Cardamom 1 Tbsp Carob Syrup 1 Tbsp Extra Virgin Coconut Oil Method: Line a square 20 x 20 cm tin with non-stick baking paper Place pecans in a food processor or blender. Pulse until coarsely ground Add remaining ingredients and pulse again until uniformly broken down Scoop out the mixture and press firmly into the pre-prepared tin. Cover with cling film and place

Raw Carob Prune Balls

Ingredients: 1 Cup Pitted Prunes roughly chopped 2 Tbs Raw Carob Powder 1 Cup Raw Walnuts 1/4 Cup Gojo Berries 1 tsp Vanilla Essence 1/2 Cup Sesame Seeds for rolling Method: Blend walnuts until desired texture. Add all other ingredients and process until all combined. Use a teaspoon full of mixture and make into little balls, and roll balls in sesame seeds to coat Store in fridge.

Carob Cookie

Ingredients: 1/2 Cup Raw Almond (activated if possible for better digestion) or use Almond Flour (meal) 1/2 Cup Desiccated Coconut 1/4 Cup Raw Carob Powder 1/4 Cup Raisins 1/4 Cup Maple Syrup or Raw Honey 1 tbsp Cinnamon 1/4 tsp Salt Method: Food process the almond till it becomes flour like. Be careful not to over process. If you are using almond flour (meal) you can skip this process. Add rest of the ingredients and process till it forms a dough Shape and dehydrate till the desired consistency is achieved. Alternatively you may like to bake at 180 degrees centigrade

Vegan Banana, Avocado & Carob Pudding

Ingredients: 2 Very ripe Bananas, speckled with black dots, peeled 1 Ripe Avocado, cut into 2, big stone removed, flesh scooped out with a large spoon 4 Tablespoon of Maple Syrup 1 ½ Tablespoon of Raw Carob Powder 2 Teaspoons of Vanilla Extract 2/3 Cup of Soy Milk Method: Place all the ingredients in this order in your Vitamix.
